Fastbreak Impact ("Impact," "we," "us," or "our") is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to expand access to youth sports for athletes facing financial barriers by providing financial grants to facilitate participation. We are committed to protecting the privacy of the families who apply for grants and the donors who make those grants possible. This Privacy Notice (this “Notice”) explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, when we share it, and the choices and rights you have regarding that information.

We recognize that much of this information is highly sensitive. We collect only what we reasonably need to evaluate eligibility, prevent fraud, and comply with our legal and grantmaking obligations.

We do not use grant applicants' financial need information to make decisions other than those related to grantmaking, program administration, fraud prevention, and legal compliance.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use grant applicant information for advertising.
Depending on the information involved, we process personal information because (a) you have provided it to us in connection with a voluntary grant application or donation; (b) it is necessary hto administer our charitable programs and fulfill our mission; (c) we have a legitimate interest in operating a nonprofit responsibly, including preventing fraud; or (d) we are required to do so by law (for example, tax reporting).
We share personal information only in the limited circumstances described below. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share grant applicants' sensitive financial or hardship information with donors.
We share information with vendors who perform services on our behalf, such as cloud hosting, application-platform hosting, payment processing, email delivery, background verification of submitted documents, accounting, and audit services. These providers are contractually required to protect the information and use it only for the purposes we authorize.
When we approve a grant, we share only the information reasonably necessary to disburse funds to the athletic program, league, or vendor- typically the recipient family's name and the child's registration information. We do not share tax returns, benefits eligibility records, or hardship documentation with these payees.
Fastbreak.ai, Inc. (Fastbreak AI) is a for-profit company whose customers support Impact, is a separate legal entity. We may share limited information with Fastbreak AI to acknowledge donations made by its clients and to operate shared technology infrastructure, but we do not share grant applicants' financial need information with Fastbreak AI or its clients.
We may disclose information when we believe in good faith that disclosure is required by law, subpoena, or court order; necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of Impact, our applicants, donors, or others; or necessary to investigate suspected fraud or misuse of the Services.
If Impact undergoes a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or transfer of assets or programs to another nonprofit, personal information may be transferred as part of that transition, subject to appropriate confidentiality obligations.
We may share information for any other purpose that you direct or to which you consent.
We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Notice, including to administer grants, respond to follow-up inquiries, satisfy IRS recordkeeping requirements applicable to 501(c)(3) organizations, and comply with audit, legal, and regulatory obligations. When information is no longer needed, we securely delete or de-identify it.
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information — including encryption of sensitive documents in transit and at rest, access controls that limit grant review materials to authorized personnel on a need-to-know basis, and ongoing security monitoring. No system can be guaranteed 100% secure, but we take the sensitivity of tax, benefits, and hardship documentation seriously and design our safeguards accordingly.
Some aspects of our platform permit you to create an account, and when you do, you will be prompted to create a password. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password, and you are responsible for any access to or use of your account by someone else that has obtained your password, whether such access or use has been authorized by you. You should notify us of any unauthorized use of your password or account.
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to operate the site, remember your preferences, and understand how the site is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings. We do not use any marketing cookies or cookies to build advertising profiles of grant applicants, donors, or site visitors.
Our grant applications necessarily involve information about minor children who would benefit from a grant. Parents or legal guardians submit this information on behalf of their children. We do not knowingly allow children under 13 to create accounts or submit applications themselves, and we do not use children's information for marketing. If you believe a child has provided information directly to us, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

We do not "sell" or "share" personal information as those terms are defined under California law.
Our Services may contain links to third-party websites (for example, payment processors or athletic program pages). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties, and we encourage you to review their privacy notices.
We may update this Notice from time to time. If we make material changes, we will post the updated Notice on our website and update the "Last Updated" date above. For material changes that affect grant applicants' sensitive information, we will provide additional notice where required by law.
